Sponge iron (HBI) is a crucial raw material in the production of green steel, significantly reducing carbon emissions right from the iron smelting stage.

Using advanced technology and renewable energy and green hydrogen gas, the oxygen in iron ore is directly reduced to retain the iron content, resulting in directly reduced iron (DRI). Directly reduced iron is also known as directly reduced iron or sponge iron.

HBI is a compressed form of sponge iron, easily transported and suitable for use in various steelmaking furnaces such as electric arc furnaces (EAF), blast furnaces (BF), and blower furnaces (BOF) at different ratios.

HBI is produced with consistent and clearly defined chemical and physical properties. The chemical composition of HBI is certified by the manufacturer, and ISO quality standards are strictly adhered to.
