On November 7, 2025, at Stavian Group’s Headquarters in Hanoi, Stavian Industrial Metal Joint Stock Company (Stavian Industrial Metal) and Viet Hai Industry Joint Stock Company (Viet Hai Group) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on strategic cooperation, marking a significant milestone in the partnership between two of Vietnam’s leading enterprises in the fields of industrial metals, mechanical engineering and shipbuilding.

According to the Memorandum of Understanding, both parties will engage in comprehensive cooperation across the following key areas:
Both sides agreed to pursue a development strategy aligned with the trends of “Green – Clean – Digital – Energy Transition,” consistent with Vietnam’s sustainability goals and global advancements in AI, automation and renewable energy.
In this partnership, Stavian Industrial Metal contributes its strengths in sustainable metal supply, global financial solutions, and international partnership networks, while VHG brings technical expertise in engineering, fabrication, installation, and shipbuilding through its member companies such as Lilama 69-2 and Viet Hai Industry (VHI), creating a perfect synergy of finance, technology, and engineering.

Stavian Industrial Metal, a member of Stavian Group, currently operates in more than 100 countries and territories, managing over 10 manufacturing plants, 40 logistics hubs and 30 international offices, serving more than 20,000 customers and partners worldwide. With the vision of becoming one of the Top 10 Industrial Metal Processing and Trading Enterprises in Southeast Asia by 2028, Stavian Industrial Metal is pioneering the promotion of green metal consumption and actively contributing to Vietnam’s Net Zero 2050 commitment.
VHG is strategically oriented toward investment in the fields of mechanical engineering, manufacturing, shipbuilding, energy, and logistics. The group holds controlling stakes in several enterprises, notably Lilama 69-2, a company with over 60 years of experience that has participated in numerous national landmark projects such as Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant, Pha Lai, Mong Duong, and Nhon Trach Thermal Power Plants, as well as iconic tourism projects like Fansipan Cable Car, Ba Na Hills, and Hon Thom Cable Car. Meanwhile, Viet Hai Industry (VHI) plays a key role in mechanical manufacturing, steel structure fabrication, and shipbuilding for export, currently expanding cooperation with international corporations such as Hitachi, Posco, Alstom, and Nippon Steel.
As Vietnam implements its Marine Economic Sustainability Strategy to 2030 and Vision to 2045, the mechanical, manufacturing and shipbuilding sectors are identified as key pillars in enhancing national industrial capacity, fostering green growth and integrating into global supply chains. Vietnam currently boasts a shipbuilding capacity of around 3.5 million DWT per year, accounting for nearly 0.6% of the global market share and aims to build a fleet of 1,600–1,750 vessels (17–18 million DWT) by 2030 (according to the Ministry of Transport).
In this context, the strategic collaboration between Stavian Industrial Metal and Viet Hai Group not only opens opportunities to promote technological innovation, develop green steel and renewable energy, but also lays the foundation for enhancing Vietnam’s manufacturing capacity in the mechanical and industrial sectors — thereby reinforcing the position of Vietnamese enterprises on the global industrial map.
This event marks the beginning of a new phase of cooperation, laying the groundwork for a strategic alliance among Vietnam’s industrial enterprises, collectively striving toward the goal of building a modern, green, and sustainable mechanical – manufacturing – shipbuilding industry./.
